As I stood lonely a beautiful picture took shape

Recently the City was seen celebrating the 2600th year of Buddha’s enlightenment. The event kick started with the inauguration of Buddhist Heritage Festival at Amphitheatre, India Habitat Centre. The event was inaugurated by Actress Deepti Naval and was followed with chanting of Buddhist Sutras by renowned Classical Vocalist Vidya Rao. Heading on with the spirit the Monks of Key monastery, Spiti, Himachal Pradesh performed the famous spiritual Chham Dance that stunned the audience.

The event was organized by Asoka Mission, a premier Buddhist institution of Delhi, and is supported by PD Division of MEA, Government of India.

One of the other interesting activities going on was the live making of Butter Sculptures and Mandala made by the Monks of Sherab Ling Monastery, Himachal Pradesh along with the display of magnificent handcrafted Tankhas made by the Monks themselves. Also going on is the Book Festival of Buddhist literature.


I happened to admire whatever is beautiful!!
